Report Suspected Injured/Orphaned Possum Sightings

Residences/Farms
Be concerned if;
Possum was seen to be hit or attacked.
Lying on its side or crouching on the ground.
Has serious wounds, deep gashes or exposed skin.
Remains outside on ground during daylight hours.
Have visible injuries e.g. Wounds from dogs or gunshots.
Exposed in a vulnerable position especially if on the ground.
Clearly an orphan or small joey.
Appears disorientated or trapped away from natural habitats.

Roads

If they are mobile on roads during daylight hours.
On or in centre of road lying down and not able to get up correctly.
Obviously injured.
Shows visible blood or other wounds.
An orphan is nearby or on dead mother.

If injured or orphaned DO.

Wrap in small towel place a wrapped warm water bottle next to possum.

Call for help from local rescue organisation.

Place in quiet area in secure box.

DO NOT FEED POSSUMS
